Nassau County Police arrested, Frank Zenon, of Baldwin, for criminal impersonation, after he approached officers around 10:50 a.m., Saturday, May 11, while they were investigating another crime in Oceanside, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, while conducting an investigation into an unrelated case at a 7-Eleven at 475 Merrick Road, they were approached by Zenon who identified himself to the detectives as a detective with the NYPD, police said.

After a brief conversation, the detectives became suspicious of his actions, and a subsequent investigation showed that Zenon had an open warrant from New Jersey, police said.

Detectives responded to Zenon's home and placed him under arrest without incident, police added.

During a search of the defendant, two NYPD detective shields were recovered.

Zenon has been charged with two counts of criminal impersonation and having an open warrant from out of state.

The Nassau County Police Department requests anyone that feels they may be a victim of the defendant to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
